Steve operates Owl Mountain Music, Inc. – Music Production, Private Music Education, Recording, and Publishing. Steve’s discography includes 13 recordings. In 2004 & 1998 he won second place in the National Mountain Dulcimer Contest, Walnut Valley Festival, 2004 & 1998 Steve was a finalist in the National Hammered Dulcimer Contest, Walnut Valley Festival, and in 2002 & 2001 he placed 3rd in the the National Mountain Dulcimer Contest at Walnut Valley. In addition Steve has been winning musical awards since 1985.

Associates Degree, presently Karney teaches private guitar lessons, guitar classes through Colorado State University’s Lifestyles Program, and with the City of Fort Collins Parks and Recreation, and is an applied guitar instructor at the community college level. He also has been playing guitar and providing vocals with the Redline Band for over 15 years. He also sings and plays guitar with the Redline Duo.
